Seriously, am I the last in captivity to still script in awk?

I'm just now setting up some awk scripts that will become part of the closing process for our open encrollment this year. Sure, I could do it in perl, which is what some other parts will use, but why, when awk does it so cleanly?
Thus, there are at least two of us still in captivity (but maybe the last two given the paucity of comments?)
